History & new developments in the Port of Antwerp:

For more than a decade, the industry has been looking for ways of expanding the container logistics in the Port of Antwerp. In 2005, the new Deurganckdok was officially opened, creating new opportunities for the major shipping lines to address the Port of Antwerp. In 2016, more than decade later, the left bank port expansion creates a need for decent infrastructure in terms of container depot facilities & repairs. It was only logical to follow the industry trend and open a left bank located depot, contributing to our existing customer basis. This new facilty of Mega Industrial Engineering will also help reduce the carbon dioxide emissions for empty container trips.

Specs of depot:

• 8500 m²
• a brand new workshop, with 10 reefer repair bays
• handler for empty containers for gate in & out
• Specialized equipment for reefer repairs
  • a cutting bench
  • a sheet bending machine
  • an insulation foam injecting machine with foam rig for proper repairs
  • Only high grade stainless steel used for quality repairs
